Geeeeez, our guys started bsdblogs hosting, where every FreeBSD developer can open its own account and blog, blog, blog. Some blog newbies already did it and enjoy it 
Though it’s worth to note, the site is still experimental, so errors can occur.

So much buzz I’ve heard during last days on IRC about flash plugin removal from ports tree, so I’ve decided to write a couple of thoughts about it. Well, it’s neither my whim nor portmrgs’, it’s violation of license terms which should be clarified first with Adobe/Macromedia, if there’re volunteers to do it, they’re always welcome. Also do not forget the both ports were FORBIDDEN because of code vulnerability, and according to port maintainer those vulnerabilities won’t be fixed ever.
So if you really want to help FreeBSD to get the native flash support, I’d strongly recommend you to contact Adobe requesting it, otherwise fuck off. Rephrasing JFK - ask not what FreeBSD can do for you, ask what you can do for FreeBSD.

I had a feeling it won’t work, and it didn’t… No, I don’t like flash at all, but I need it to attend some URLs with it, so I tried it out. I’ve added some lines for flash6 support from /usr/local/share/examples/linuxpluginwrapper/libmap.conf-FreeBSD6 to /etc/libmap.conf, restarted firefox, looked at about : plugins and it didn’t find flash plugin. I wonder what Macromedia needs to release the native flash plugin for FreeBSD, money, developers or more users ? Maybe I need to mail to hates-software.com to complain about Macromedia

We’ve started the new experimental build on pointyhat some days ago, stopped it one time since we forgot to include some changes in bsd.autotools.mk. Until now, almost everything seems fine, except of a couple suspicious errors in fetch code. I hope at the end of next week, we’re ready to commit new changes.

Today I tried to catch up some patches which I’ve planned to test during the week, some of them are already in ports/ tree, and some of them for pkg_install are coming soon. Finally my PC is updated after a loooong portupgrade run caused by new GNOME update which hit the tree today and finally I could get Firefox-1.5RC1 running on FreeBSD. Well, it freezes everytime on the Flash overloaded pages, but on the whole I liked it. The most extensions which I updated for beta1 are still working or were updated for RC1. I discovered a nice Tab Mix Plus extension and after tuning and testing it, I deleted “Tab Preferences” extension.
