И до меня добрались, вообщем. Какой-то индус-рекрутер прислал email на @FreeBSD.org адрес с вопросом “а не хотите ли вы поработать на нас”, на что я ответил - “можно было бы, но зависит что предлагаете”. Индус перезвонил через два дня, спросил кто я, откуда, что делал и делаю в мире этом, и через 15 минут трёпа спрашивает три технических вопроса, первый “что такое sticky bit”, второй - “назови syscall, который получает информацию о файле в зависимости от пути (path).”, и третий “какой сигнал kill(9) посылает по дефолту”. Вообщем я пробубнил ему все ответы в трубку, он ничего не сказал, и на мой вопрос “ну чё правильно или как” ответил, что всё изложит в письменной форме по email.
Ну дай бог с ним, через две недели приходит ответ от индуса, что они хотели бы меня проинтервьюировать по телефону ещё раз, но теперь с инженером из Mountain View, продолжительность интервью - 45 мин. Надо сказать, _ни разу_ в жизни у меня не было интервью по 45 мин., а тем более по телефону, я лениво согласился, и через неделю позвонил некий инженер Jinnah, который после того, как представился, тут же начал задавать каверзные вопросы из сисадминской области. Могу сказать с точностью, вопросов было 15-20, от простых до очень сложных. Стиль вопросов интересный, например - “соединяетесь по телнету на 53 порт, на какой демон попадаете”, затем сразу после ответа про DNS, “а что там было с TTL у DNS, что это и с чем его едят”. Тоже самое про networking - “что такое traceroute”, следует мой ответ, затем “а что такое TTL в traceroute и как оно всё работает”, затем рекрутер резко прыгает в тему TCP и просит ему рассказать что такое syncookies, для чего они нужны и их имплементация, вообщем голая теория.
Весь этот напряг длился 45 минут, он поблагадарил меня и сказал что в Google вообще попасть очень нелегко, и будет ещё одно телефонное интервью с другим инженером, после которого решат, приглашать на интервью в офис Google или от ворот поворот.
Получаю новый email, типо “ура” вы прошли первое интервью, теперь надобно второе пройти, отвечаю что можно, и назначаю дату с временем.
Звонит новый перец, некий инженер Zoltan, с допотопным арабско-югославским акцентом, да таким, что хрен разберёшь хоть одно предложение, и начинается всё сначала. Первый вопрос товарища поставил меня в тупик, а именно - “как имея рутовую консоль, в течение 15 секунд установить backdoor на системе”, мой ответ был “ээээээ, ыыыыы”, вообщем я не стал напрягать сильно мозг и сказал чтобы спрашивал дальше. Вообще второй интервью было ужасным, его акцент плюс 20 слов в секунду, заставляли меня переспрашивать его каждое предложение. Затем последовал вопрос про “load averages” в uptime, мой ответ был простым и ясным - “средняя температура по больнице, включая крематорий и морг”, ему надо было глубины и он попросил ему рассказать как load average устроен в Linux’e, а вот ХЕЗ как именно load average устроены в Линуксе, вообщем я пересказал ему про load average в FreeBSD. В конце он бросил такую фразу “в Линуксе наподобие, я читал сорцы”, я чуть было не разрыдался.
В конце 45 минутки, спросил - “чтобы вы хотели улучшить в Google”, я возьми и брякни - “быстрее выпускать релизы из Google Labs”, потом как обычно секью итд. и через неделю пришёл долгожданный ответ - “Thank you from Google, но вы нам не нужны, бо у нас и так людей хватает с более хорошими знаниями и опытом”. Вот такие они вот пацаны из Google…

Зашёл на сайт ФСБ, посмотреть как оно вообще выглядит. Увидел в первых строках фразу “ОБРАЩЕНИЕ К ЧЛЕНАМ НЕЗАКОННЫХ ВООРУЖЕННЫХ ФОРМИРОВАНИЙ”, пошёл на сайт ЦРУ, но не нашёл там обращения спецслужб к арабским террористам и Бин Ладену.
Неужели в ФСБ наивно верят, что незаконные вооружённые формирования читают/просматривают их сайт ? Кстати, на ЦРУ пускают только по SSL.
